About San José

San José is Costa Rica's capital and the hub of the Central Valley: museums of gold and jade, the National Theatre, the Central Market and a growing food scene in Barrio Escalante. For most visitors it is a one-night stop on the way in or out, close to SJO airport and to the roads north to La Fortuna and west to the Pacific.
