About JW Marriott Guanacaste

The JW Marriott Guanacaste Resort & Spa sits on Playa Mansita inside Hacienda Pinilla, with one of the largest pools in Central America, a beachfront spa, several restaurants and direct access to the hacienda's golf course, trails and beaches. It is the best-known luxury resort south of Tamarindo.

Most guests arrive on private transfers from Liberia Airport and use the resort as a base for day trips to Tamarindo, Avellanas and Rincón de la Vieja.

The ride from Manuel Antonio

From Liberia Airport the transfer takes about 1 hour 15 minutes on paved road via Belén and Villarreal, entering Hacienda Pinilla at the main gate and continuing 10 minutes to the resort lobby. Tamarindo is 15 to 20 minutes away.

Good to know before you arrive

  • Ask the driver to stop at the Villarreal supermarket if you want snacks and drinks in your room.
  • Resort restaurants require reservations in high season; Tamarindo has more choice.
