About Uvita
Uvita is the small town at the heart of the Costa Ballena, known for Marino Ballena National Park and its whale-tail sandbar, humpback whale season from July to October and December to March, waterfalls in the hills and a green, uncrowded coastline south of Dominical. Lodging ranges from jungle lodges to hillside villas with ocean views.

- Whale-watching boat tours run mornings from the park's beach entrances.
- Nauyaca Waterfalls, 30 minutes north, are worth a half day.
- Uvita has a supermarket and ATMs; villas in the hills need a car or driver for dinner runs.
